FortyliciousTM came about at the time of the big buzz of the 40’s being recognized as the new 30’s. People started re-evaluating their lives and wanted to celebrate this new coming of age with a splash!
FortyliciousTM seeks to provide a forum for 40 year olds to meet others in the same demographic, by participating in common interests that may have been put on the backburner previously in their thirties.
The FortyliciousTM concept was developed by Heather Held as she turned forty. Dena Pollack, also nearing forty, soon joined her friend to help turn the concept into a reality. Surveys, interviews and social networking all pointed to the need for a venue that enables an individual to take stock of themselves at this milestone age. FortyliciousTM will help challenge people to evaluate, grow and improve their lives on an ongoing basis.

Heather Held graduated from the University of Windsor with a B.A. in Sociology. After working in sales for the insurance industry for many years, Heather took some time off to have two children. She returned to work part time as the Director of Sales for a National Company while looking after her two kids. When Heather turned 40 she came to the realization that she had a lot she wanted to accomplish and thought this was the best time to do so. While balancing her career and motherhood, Heather found herself organizing social activities with friends, going on road trips with her husband and taking up sports such as running and working out four days a week. Heather was lucky enough to have made some great contacts in the health, travel and social spheres, in the course of her career, all of whom have been more than happy to contribute to her site. Being an active and social forty year old, Heather has the experience to offer some helpful tools to get other forty year olds out and networking while challenging themselves to new heights!
