Most sauvignon from New Zealand comes for Marlborough which is cooler than Hawkes Bay that better known for its red wines. As a consequence the nose shows ripe melon and apple fruit with some celery and mineral tones. The palate is very smooth with the the ripe fruit balanced by acidity. Very good length and lots of flavour. Try with veal, chicken or roast pork. Last tasted April 2012.
