I would like to suggest a “Join a Sport Team/Class” challenge.

A few years back I took a leap and decided I should try playing soccer again. I found this to be a great way to get some exercise, meet some new people – some lifelong friends for sure – as well as have a guaranteed couple of hours that was just for me to leave the world behind and have some fun while getting some exercise!

There are all kinds out there to try from hockey, soccer, volleyball to dodgeball, pilates. Most are inexpensive and don’t require a long committment either – usually just an hour a week from 8-14 weeks.

That’s a great challenge! I’m finding more and more singles and couples our age are joining House Leagues. We will be sure to include that one in 2011 – thanks!

  3. Lisa says:

A bunch of people at my work play dodgeball. They say it is great stress release.

  4. How about quitting smoking? Not sure I’m gonna last but I’m trying…for the record…I’m already feeling angry…

My suggestion is to open a challenge on Stress Relief , Yoga Class, Meditation, ect.

My suggestion is setting up 10K Mini Marathon Challenge. Will send out invites to all those interested. Some time in late April, early May. Would like to turn it into Mini Marathon with a charitable cause in mind.

This one’s a bit different..not one big challenge, but more like
several little ones. I’ve found myself having less and less time to
workout these days, it’s an important part of my life, but things
like work and family have been keeping me out of the gym more than
I’d like. This weekend, I will be attending an ALL DAY TaekwonDo
tournament with my sons ( leaving at 6am, back close to midnight)
that’s A LOT of sitting and watching for me! I’ve decided to
challenge myself to find to find a way to fit a little exercise
into the day..I’ll have to get creactive..maybe some lunges on the
way to the bathroom or a few pushups after a lunch break..just
SOMETHING to keep myself a little active on those inactive days.. I
think this would be a fun challenge for a lot of people! No time to
exercise, need to go to the grocery store? How about butt clenches
at the check out line? Running from work to your kid’s soccer
game..how about actually running there instead of driving? Could be
fun to see how crafty people can get!

  8. My challenge to you: Next time you take the kids to the park, do
everything they do. Jump when they do, squat, climb, run when they
do. You’ll get a great workout!! Let me know if you are able to
keep up or for how long, and have fun!! :)

Family time challenge – As a family sit down for at least one
breakfast, one lunch and one supper each week.

BUCKET LIST CHALLENGE We all have “lists” of what we want to do
“someday”… Make that someday NOW! Knock an item – or two or three
    - off that list and share it! May help inspire others as well as
give others ideas for their own lists. We never make enough time
for ourselves, so maybe challenging ourselves to do it will help
make us our own priority. Turn the Bucket List into a reality now.

Couple of ideas I have include connect with an old friend over
coffee and have a regular date with your significant other. I try
to meet with friends once every couple months. My hubby and I try
to have date night weekly but usually only end up doing so once a
month. I think once a month is a good goal.

  12. DO SOMETHING THAT SCARES YOU I read an article recently by Danielle
Laport (www.whitehottruth.com) called “11 Slightly Scary Ways to
Become a Better You”. I think this is a great idea for a
“challenge”. Last year I learned how to wakeboard at the age of 45.
I didn’t grow up boating and had only gone water-skiing once in my
life, about 25 years ago. I was scared spitless but I tried it with
much fear & trembling. I wiped out a lot but I kept trying and
I fell in love with it. This year, my second year, has been even
more fun. Trying something you are scared to try or learning a new
skill helps give me confidence in other areas of my life and defies
    “aging”!

I would like to suggest that members challenge themselves to do
something outside their comfort zone. Doesn’t necessarily have to
be huge or scary but just something they didn’t want to try maybe
because they didn’t feel comfortable doing it on their own or
    wouldn’t be good at it.

  14. Kathy says:

I just came to suggest a challenge of “Do something that scares
you” but I see that Janice and Sharon have already suggested
something along these lines. I think this would be a good one!

  15. Doing a Chopra 21 Day Meditation Challenge beginning Monday, August
15th 2011. I will be participating to kick my neglected
non-Meditating self in the tooshie! Who wants to join me and a
“bunch” of people globally to do this Challenge?!?!?

  16. How about a Fall Purge Challenge? I got a bunch of boxes from the
liquor store so I’d have somewhere to put everything I was getting
rid of. I am going room by room and so far have filled the curb
with garbage and my car with stuff for the Salvation Army. Still
going strong and my mental clutter is going away too! Finding
things I didn’t know I had and letting go of the past have
    re-energized me. Oh, never mind a chalenge – I already won! ;-P

I cannot take credit for this idea… I learned of it via Scentsy
    http://scentsyconvention.com/scentsy-theone.aspx who “stole” the
concept from http://operationbeautiful.com/ A challenge to “be the
one” making a difference by empowering others with positive
comments written on sticky notes left in random places. <3 <3

  18. Being a professional organizer, I think Michelle Peer has the right
idea: ORGANIZE. My challenge to you all is to take 15 minutes a day
and tackle your linen closet, a few shelves in your kitchen, the
‘junk drawer’, a cabinet underneath your sink in the bathroom, your
freezer. TAKE YOUR PICK…just 15 minutes a day or every other day.
Let me know how you do.

  19. Want to lose some weight and get fit before the holidays. Here is

Redecorate a room in your house – but by using pieces you already
own. Upcycle, rework, pull from other rooms or storage. Let’s redo
a room in style on a dime!
